Geil Announces DDR2 Memory Modules

GeIL Inc. today announced the release of DDR2 memory modules. Shipping is expected to be on July 10th, 2004 in limited quantities. GeIL offers 533MHz SDRAM DDR2 DIMMs in capacities of 512MB and 1 GB,to support the future-generation computer platforms coming to public in 2004.

The latest generation DDR2 Memory Technology Offers Faster Speeds, Greater Bandwidths, Lower Power Consumption and Enhanced Thermal Performance .

According to Geil, DDR memory technology has matured and reached its bottleneck. And DDR2 is the newest industry standard that everyone is looking forward to replace the matured DDR. DDR2 memoryfeatures faster speeds, higher data bandwidths, lower power consumption by about 50 percent, and enhanced thermal performance versus DDR.

As DDR2 memory becomes widely adopted later this year, it will be used to enhance major performance on desktops, notebooks, and servers as well as telecommunication and networking devices. All ofGeIL’s DDR2 modules have been tested extensively in multiple DDR2 motherboards to ensure compatibility and performance at its rated speed.
