JVC Teams Up WIth Maxtor For Recorders

JVC has implemented Maxtor's 160GB QuickView hard drives in the company's new hard drive-based DVD recorders.

From Maxtor’s press release:

Maxtor Corporation announced today that Victor Company of Japan Ltd (JVC) has selected Maxtor QuickView consumer electronics (CE) hard disk drives for its new DR-MH30 and DR-MH50 HDD & DVD recorders. The JVC DR-MH30 incorporates a Maxtor 160GB QuickView hard disk drive and provides up to 143 hours of standard definition video recording. The JVC DR-MH50 includes a Maxtor 250GB QuickView hard drive and offers up to 225 hours of standard definition video recording.

JVC selected Maxtor QuickView hard disk drives for their advanced consumer features, performance and brand recognition in the digital entertainment market. The DR-MH30 and DR-MH50 carry the QuickView by Maxtor logos on the front of the recorder as evidence of the level of quality and the experience the user can expect.

“The Maxtor QuickView hard disk drive embodies an exceptional combination of performance, capacity and reliability that further enhances our customers’ digital experience,” said Shingo Kawata, executive vice president, AV & Multimedia Company at JVC. “We believe that the QuickView technology powered by Maxtor’s MaxLabs played the significant role in bringing the DR-MH30 and DR-MH50 to the market.”

“Maxtor is pleased to continue our strong relationship with JVC on the development of HDD & DVD recorders integrated with QuickView hard disk drives,” said Mike Cordano, executive vice president, worldwide sales and marketing at Maxtor. “The success of this collaboration demonstrates Maxtor’s continued strengths in the digital entertainment market and our commitment to providing our customers with the full range of services they require.”
