Seagate Pocket Drive Wins CES Award

The Seagate USB 2.0 Pocket Hard Drive has won the 2005 CES Innovation Award, given by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

A panel of prominent industry designers, engineers and journalists judged more than 750 product entries on criteria including user value, aesthetics, innovative design, quality and contributions to the quality of life.

Seagate’s CES award-winning USB 2.0 Pocket Hard Drive can be seen at the 2005 International CES Innovations Showcase, at Innovations Plus in CES Central Plaza, in Las Vegas on January 6-9, 2005. Media are also invited to visit Seagate at CES Unveiled, the Official Press Event of CES, and discover the industry’s broadest line of innovative and fun external storage devices, including Seagate’s new CompactFlash Photo Hard Drive, the huge 400GB Seagate External Hard Drive with pushbutton backup, the 100GB Seagate Portable External Hard Drive and the CES award-winning Pocket Hard Drive. CES Unveiled is January 4, 2005 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at LVCC Room S226.

The new Seagate USB 2.0 Pocket Hard Drive is the biggest small hard drive on the planet it’s the world’s first external hard drive small enough for consumers to fit in their pockets or throw in a backpack. Safely encased in its sleek palm-sized shell, it’s as convenient as a USB thumb drive but it offers an incredible 5GB of storage to conveniently carry a huge amount of digital music, photos, video, and business files.

The Seagate Pocket Hard Drive has a distinct round design just over two inches in diameter.
